Free-entry four-island state preserve three miles offshore from Tarpon Springs, known for beaches, birding, shelling, snorkeling, and primitive camping. Ferry or private-boat transportation costs extra. Bring drinking water. The lighthouse opens for volunteer-run open houses on the second weekend of each month, October–May.

Boardwalks, shaded trails, and a quieter nature feel make this a casual North Pinellas outdoor reset. The playground is temporarily closed through winter 2026 while the county installs a replacement.

Tarpon Springs park with a one-mile causeway to a white-sand swimming beach, sunset views, paddling and fishing access, playgrounds, and wildlife habitat.

Pinellas County’s roughly 8,700-acre natural area protects wetlands and pine flatwoods, with wilderness trails, guided programs, and an environmental education center with interactive exhibits.
