Thanksgiving morning, thousands of runners, a costume contest and then the couch.
Clearwater's established Thanksgiving tradition offers a timed 5K at 7 a.m., a family 5K at 8 a.m. and a one-mile Drum Run at 9:15 a.m. at Clearwater High School, with most races starting on Keene Road south of Gulf to Bay Boulevard. Register for your chosen race; the city specifically permits strollers and well-behaved leashed dogs in the family 5K and one-mile events. Check the rules for your chosen format. The separate November 25 Pre-Trot Celebration and packet pickup takes place at BayCare Ballpark from 4-8 p.m.
